In view of the escalating Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) situation, it is unfortunate that we have to cancel the Exhibitor Briefings (Singapore & Malaysia) for SEMICON Southeast Asia 2020 scheduled on 19 & 26 February.
After much deliberation with our strategic partners, SMF (Singapore Manufacturing Federation) and venue owner MITEC (Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre), SEMI's conclusion and priority is the health and well being of all exhibitors and guests.
Having said this, some of the briefing presentation slides will be shared by 19 Feb 2020 on our microsite for your planning. We will inform all exhibitors once it's available online for downloading. We will be available to provide guidance and handle any inquiries regarding the exhibitor login portal and logistics preparation for the upcoming event.
SEMI will continue to closely monitor the 2019 n-CoV acute respiratory disease developments and will provide periodic updates as information becomes available. Our next update on SEMICON SEA will be no later than 9 March 2020.
Our team will continue to prepare and execute SEMICON SEA scheduled on 12-14 May, 2020 in MITEC, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia per planned. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this change, but your safety is our top concern.

For business usage, exhibitors are advised to order from MITEC for a more stable line coverage.
Double Tax Deduction (DTD) Scheme - *Applicable to Malaysian Exhibitors Only*
Malaysia-registered companies participating in SEMICON Southeast Asia 2020 will be entitled to Double Tax Deduction (DTD). Kindly refer below for procedures of claim by MATRADE:
In order to obtain the approval letter for DTD, each exhibiting company (Malaysia-registered only) has to ensure the following:-
- Kindly provide one application letter by using company letterhead (sample)
- Please state in your letter the name, date and venue of exhibition
- Please attach copies of related invoice or receipt etc. booth rental (for proof of participation)
- Copies of brochure/booklet/floorplan of the exhibition
- MATRADE registration number

Marketing Development Grant - *Applicable to Malaysian Exhibitors Only*
The Market Development Grant (MDG) is an export facilitation in the form of a reimbursable grant. MDG was introduced in 2002 with the objective to facilitate Malaysian exporters’ core expenses in promoting Malaysian made products or services globally.
The maximum ceiling amount for Malaysian SMEs, Professional Service Providers, Trade and Industry Associations, Chambers of Commerce, Professional Bodies and Cooperatives will increase from RM200,000 to RM300,000 per life time effective 1 January 2020.
[Note that all MDG reimbursements are subject to the availability of government funds.]

Company Name Change
With effect from 28 Dec 2018, our company name has changed from SEMI SINGAPORE PTE LTD to SEMI SOUTHEAST ASIA PTE LTD.
Please note that there has been no change in management and in range of product / services we offer. Nevertheless, name change shall not impact our ongoing cooperation and agreed terms.
The UEN/GST registration and address will be remained the same. We would highly appreciate if you could bring this information to the attention of your department responsible for finances by conveying them to update in your record in the enclosure of this letter.
