Presentation Title
PFAS - Navigating Regulatory Complexity and Sustainable Compliance Strategies
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), commonly referred to as “forever chemicals,” are widely used in electronics and industrial applications due to their durability, chemical resistance, and performance benefits. However, increasing evidence of environmental persistence, bioaccumulation, and potential health impacts has accelerated global regulatory action, making PFAS a critical sustainability and compliance challenge for the electronics industry.
This session examines the use of PFAS across electronic components and consume products, including fluoropolymers, coatings, wiring, batteries, and printed circuit boards. It highlights key global regulatory developments across major markets such as the EU and the United States, with emphasis on the shift from substance-specific controls toward grouped or whole-PFAS restrictions.
