Presentation Title

Improving Engineering Efficiency Leveraging AI/ML Securely

Abstract

Often enough, the discussion of AI/ML for semiconductor testing revolves around harnessing big data to achieve manufacturing and process improvements, while it is essential, an area in which we don’t discuss enough, sometimes even taken for granted for is how we can make use of AI/ML to improve engineering efficiency. Why not use AI/ML to do more with less?

The advancement of AI/ML continues to spring up new approaches in solving industry-wide problems (i.e. time to market pressures, skilled workers shortage, ever increasing quality requirements and etc.). Teradyne is in the forefront and invested in this space, harnessing these technologies to bring new product offerings and innovation to aide our customers in overcoming these industry challenges. With the recent release of AI-based Chatbots, the search bar has become an obsolete artifact of bygone times. It is now possible to have a conversation with a chatbot and to receive a concise summary of several relevant source documents for further detail. While the general AI-based chatbots are useful tools for general questions and answers, they fall short when it comes to providing specialized knowledge, such as in the field of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) testing. Teradyne’s chatbot aims to support Test Engineers in their search for specialized “How To’s” of Teradyne’s tester and ultimately – help our customers improve on their efficiency while working on Teradyne’s platforms with customer IP security placed at the highest priority of requirement. Innovations in leveraging of A/ML in code development and characterization/qualification processes bringing further opportunities for us to do more with less (resources, time, efforts); and at the same time help improve overall user experience and efficiency, bringing us closer to the utopia of enabling technologies with quality timely.
