Presentation Title
The Future of Flash - Technology and Testing Trends
Presentation Abstract
The digital age has brought with it an unprecedented growth in data storage needs, with worldwide bit shipments on flash memory surpassing the Zettabyte mark last year1. To put things into perspective, a Zettabyte (ZB) is a unit of storage equaling one billion Terabytes (TB) which is equivalent to storing over 250 billion DVDs or streaming video continuously for over 34,000 years!
By 2025, it is estimated that the total amount of digital data that will be created worldwide will near 1752 ZBs. To meet these growing data needs, technology scaling in flash memory has gone beyond the traditional lateral and vertical scaling to architectural and logical dimensions as well. As a result of increasing bit density and device complexity, a new dimension that is garnering importance is of manufacturing test.
This presentation would highlight the current trends across flash memory technology, the dimensions of flash scaling, key industry drivers in the zettabyte era and new paradigms in testing with a focus on trending test methodologies, test efficiency improvements, scalable test architectures and the future of testing.
