Presentation Title

The Rebalancing Semiconductor Landscape and Implications for SouthEast Asia

Presentation Abstract

The semiconductor industry landscape is reversing from the consolidation and concentration of market position in different verticals toward a more diversified supply chain. The shift is taking place following a confluence of events including rising geopolitical tension and regional conflicts, disruptions caused by supply shortages throughout the recent pandemic and renewed understanding of the strategic importance of semiconductors driving national security interests and future growth vectors including 5G, Cloud Compute/AI, Edge Computing and Automotive electrification.

The presentation will discuss US, Europe and Japan goals to regain production share, shifts the Taiwan production chain is doing to maintain its leadership in packaging and competencies and areas of strategic shift for China to maintain its industry development course. We also will look at the opportunities for SE Asia within a shifting chain to capture value and also supply the increasingly diverging ecosystems that the US and China rivalry is forming.
