Mr. Joseph CHIA
Vice President & General Manager, GlobalFoundries
Joseph Chia is Vice President and General Manager of GF's 300mm Fab 7 in Singapore. He previously led the 200mm GIGA+ Fab operations and Operations Training and Development with a passion for creative employee engagement and development.
With over 30 years of semiconductor fabrication experience, Mr. Chia began his career at SGS-Thomson Microelectronics in 1990 and then joined Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing.
Throughout his career, Mr. Chia gained experience in Etch and Thin Film engineering, Yield Engineering, and led Customer Engineering and Quality & Reliability Assurance for many years prior to his current role. Mr. Chia also worked at TriTech Microelectronics’ Fabless design house in Customer Quality earlier in his career.
Mr. Chia holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and an MBA from the National University of Singapore.
