Ms. Nurr Syazwanie KHAMARUZAMAN
Senior Engineer, Test Engineer, Western Digital Batu Kawan, Malaysia
A dynamic and forward-thinking young engineer, driven by a passion for innovation and excellence within the manufacturing industry. Graduated with a Bachelor Degree in E&E Engineering majoring in Communication from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP), I possess a robust foundation in both hardware and software development. From a young age, I've shown a keen interest in problem-solving, laying the groundwork for my journey into engineering. Motivated by a strong desire to use technology for positive change, I've dedicated myself to addressing challenges in the manufacturing sector.
With nearly three (3) years of experience in the flash storage technology industry, I have honed various skills and demonstrated leadership qualities. As a committee member, I actively participated in Dynamos 5.0 (leadership program) at SDSM, empowering young engineers to become leaders, and thus enhancing my leadership and management capabilities, particularly in managing technical projects. Transitioning from MPS to SSD Sustaining, I effectively utilized my NPI/R&D knowledge, showcasing adaptability in a dynamic work environment. In leading various projects, I have consistently achieved positive business outcomes. I contributed significantly to the success of the Bics5 CalX2 512Gb X3 product, focusing on aspects such as test flow, coverage enablement, enhancement, and FA debugging for LVM qualification and exit. Moreover, I played a pioneering role in the SDSM Apple BiCS5 S5E qualification start-up, particularly in implementing MT tests using the Advantest T5773.
Additionally, my involvement in the FA Cohort team at MPS SDSM allowed me to provide valuable support to local and global teams, including sustaining, RMA, and Qual, while also offering training and coaching to the local SDSM team. As a PE member of the MH SLR SDSM team, my focus on supporting across sites, remote debug support, and Jira development has earned positive feedback and recognition, including being named Employee of the Month.
Currently, I am part of the TE sustaining R&R team, contributing to yield improvement efforts through collaborative debugging across PETE, Design, and Debug teams. Not only engaged in regular tasks but also by handling management responsibilities such as conducting meetings and addressing issues or concerns. Furthermore, my role as an engineer underscores my commitment as a mentor and a student to team support and training, earning recognition for exemplary behavior and gaining the respect of my peers. I have actively embraced a culture of going beyond by immersing myself in co-curricular events, charity work, and university relations initiatives exemplifies my dedication to internal and external communities, fostering teamwork, communication, and empathy within SDSM, reflecting our commitment to being a Great Place to Work (GPTW).
Additionally, I've played an active role in contributing to MemTech BNS initiatives aimed at fostering university relations with the company. Furthermore, my involvement as a committee member in the inaugural batch of Dynamos 5.0 at SDSM has been instrumental in nurturing young engineers to become leaders. Moreover, I was honored to be selected as one of the New College Graduates (NCG) for SEMICON 2023, further highlighting my dedication to university relations initiatives. With these experiences, I aim to inspire future generations of engineers. Their legacy is a beacon of hope and inspiration, transforming not just the engineering industry but also leaving a lasting impact on the world. I nominate myself for the Emerging Young Leader Award, aspiring to lead by example and encourage innovation among young engineers. My commitment includes fostering discussions on emerging technologies and industry trends with leadership to promote growth and advancement within the field.
