S Lawanya graduated from National University of Singapore with Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering, Honors in 2020. She is a senior Lithography process engineer of 4 years in GlobalFoundries (GF) Singapore, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt in training and is part of the Graduates Excellence Model (GEM) program, which is GF Singapore’s in-house leadership development program.

Within Lithography, Lawanya skillfully manages the complex intricacies of critical poly layers with precision and nanometer-level process control. Her role extends beyond technical execution; she leads cross-departmental collaborations, resolves daily challenges efficiently, and spearheads projects like ASML tool qualifications and tool flexibility enablement. These endeavors not only optimize the fab's bottleneck capacity but reflect her strategic thinking and operational acumen.

Lawanya's ability to build strong relationships is evident through her deep rapport with engineers and operators, fostering cohesive partnerships and garnering support within the fab. This collaborative spirit underscores the effectiveness of her professional connections and enhances operational efficiencies.

As a woman in STEM, she exemplifies extraordinary dedication to fostering DEIB in the semiconductor industry, utilizing her platform to inspire others. Her impactful presence as one of the youngest speakers at the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) Women’s Forum 2023 not only shared her engineering journey but served as a catalyst for motivating young women to pursue enriching careers within the industry. Her role as active member of GF’s GlobalWomen Employee Resource Group signifies her hands-on approach to organizing initiatives that cultivate inclusive environments, fostering the advancement and support of women within GF.

Her multifaceted contributions as panelist, emcee, and moderator during GF Singapore's International Women’s Day celebrations highlight her versatility and leadership in promoting DEIB initiatives. Her direct engagement with young women through impactful talks at the Society of Women Engineers events further reinforces her advocacy for encouraging women to excel in STEM.

She is a mentor at Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association’s (SSIA) student outreach initiative, core committee member of Singapore GlobalWomen and headed the GEM publicity committee while planning various welfare events. GlobalWomen is an employee resource group aimed at creating inclusive environments for women in GF. In 2023, Lawanya was awarded the GlobalWomen Women’s recognition award for her contributions and was a distinguished speaker at 2023 SSIA Women’s forum.

Recognizing the significance of sustained interests, Lawanya spearheaded the inaugural GEM publicity committee, proactively engaging students to stay informed and enthusiastic about GF and the semiconductor industry. Her leadership ensured continuous outreach and engagement, fostering long-term interest and awareness.

Committed to environmental sustainability, she enjoys hiking and participates in beach clean-ups and kayaking events dedicated to cleaning marine trash.
