Bo Huang joined GlobalFoundries in 2024, responsible for building digital manufacturing capabilities across GF’s global manufacturing footprint and Hub operations. Leading the Digital Manufacturing Organization, Bo formed and has been growing GF's global digital manufacturing team across its Singapore, Germany, US, and India/Malaysia hub locations.
Bo brings a wealth of experience and expertise in digital and Industry 4.0 transformation in the semiconductor sector. He was most recently with McKinsey’s Advanced Industries Practice in Southeast Asia, where he oversaw several digital transformation projects in leading organizations.

Value Creation with AI in Semiconductor Manufacturing
Abstract
AI/ML, Gen-AI and other emerging technologies are hotly discussed across the world. How do we create business value is the key. In GlobalFoundries, we have embarked on a digital transformation journey initially in response to supply chain disruptions during covid. We simplified and automated workflow. We enabled data flow for shopfloor visibility and consolidated data visualization. We also innovated remote-operate capabilities, built manufacturing operations service hub with collaboration tools enabled. We invested our in-house AI/ML capabilities to drive predictive maintenance at scale. Now we are looking towards the next horizon - industrialize ML models across information value chain, consolidate and capture best practice with Gen-AI-augmented knowledge management, and build production planning digital twin. Our value-backed approach and building frontline adoption mechanism are the key guiding principles to make digital work for us.
