Dr Karen Chong is the Deputy Executive Director at A*STAR’s Institute of Microelectronics (IME), where she leads research talent and planning, including student outreach, internships, and partnerships with universities and industry.
She drives efforts to strengthen Singapore’s semiconductor talent pipeline by exposing students and scholars to hands-on R&D through structured learning journeys and attachments at IME. As Chair of A*STAR’s Mentor Club, she promotes a strong mentoring culture across A*STAR research institutes to support early-career researchers. As a scientist in IME’s sensors group, she bridges talent development with real-world semiconductor innovation.
