Jan Nicholas is Partner with Deloitte Consulting, and leads Deloitte’s Technology Sector in Southeast Asia. He also leads the firm’s Semiconductor Industry consulting practice in Southeast Asia as well as the firm’s Asia Pacific Semiconductor Centre of Excellence. He has over 25 years of experience leading projects in industry and consulting across strategy, operations, R&D, new product development, and supply chain management.

Prior to consulting, Jan held various operations and engineering roles in the semiconductor industry, including process development, manufacturing engineering, and supply chain.

Jan holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.

Our Quantum Future: Opportunities and Risks

Abstract

Quantum computing is rapidly evolving from a niche research field into a disruptive force with significant implications for business and industry. We will provide a high-level overview of the current state of quantum, focusing on the shift toward commercially attractive use cases and how quantum computing could transform industry by solving complex problems beyond the reach of classical computers, as well as key business risks, including the future threat to encryption and the importance of early strategic positioning against threats in a post-quantum world.
