Mr. Amit SINHA
Managing Director & Global Head of Telecom, Media & Technology, DBS Group, Singapore
Amit is a Managing Director & Global Head of Telecom, Media & Technology- Corporate & Investment Banking for the DBS Group. Amit also has an oversight on offshore India business and Digital Economy Business. He has been with DBS for more than twenty-two years mainly in Singapore with three years in Dubai. He is responsible for TMT client origination and execution activities including coverage of Private Equity Funds active in the TMT space. Amit has led originated and execution of many multi-billion transactions across Leveraged Buyouts, Structured Finance, Special Situations, Debt Capital markets & Equity Capital Markets. He has advised many clients in the TMT Sector in M &A Buy and Sell Side roles. He also sits on the DBS Wholesale Bank’s Digital, Alternate Platform Lending Steering Committee to drive adoption of Digital, Data and Big Tech initiatives. Amit is a Board & Investment Committee Member of EvolutionX, DBS Bank’s US$500M Growth Debt Platform JV with Temasek.
Amit was GM & Senior Executive Officer of DBS Dubai for three years 2008-2011 responsible for overall management and business of DBS Dubai office that covers Corporate & Investment Banking, Private Banking and Institutional Equity sales businesses across Middle East. He also had oversight of DBS Dubai’s business from 2013 to 2019.
He was earlier a senior Banker in DBS Bank’s TMT team in Singapore responsible for origination, structuring and execution of complex structured & LBO financing, strategic advisory, capital markets transactions for TMT clients across Asia Pac.
Amit has previously worked for five years at Reliance Industries Limited. Amit holds a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from Nagpur University, India and an MBA in Finance from Asian Institute of Management, Philippines.
Amit is an Executive Member and Vice Chairman of South Asia Business Group under the Singapore Business Federation. He was also conferred “IBG Fellow” in the Segment of Corporate Banking (Relationship Management – Wholesale Banking) in 2014 by The Institute of Banking & Finance, Singapore. He is on Advisory Board of Billionbricks, a non-profit organisation based in Singapore. Amit is a Management Committee Member of Singapore Indian Fine Art Society “SIFAS”. He is a Charter member of TiE Singapore Chapter. Amit is an avid runner and enjoys playing Cricket, Golf and Tennis.
