How do Cloud Computing, AI and Machine Learning Transform Semiconductors
The session outlines the transformational value AI and Machine Learning (ML) provides and the industry transformation that is triggered. All Hyperscalers are jockeying to innovate in the area of AI and ML and make those services available to users around the globe for free or on a pay per use model. Deploying AI and ML requires massive compute power in the back end which is one driver to the data center expansion plans all hypescalers have in place. New types of silicon are needed inside the data centers as well as point of inference. The presentation will touch on customer examples and how specific HW like the Google TPUs allow the adoption of AI across many new use cases / devices / architectures. It will discuss how HPC, Cloud computing and AI are transforming the chip design process and how algorithms increase the productivity of engineers in an unprecedented way. Thirdly the presentation will highlight examples of AI and ML underpinning the semiconductor value chain resulting in productivity gains and cost reductions.
