Innovation through Design Thinking, Agile and Lean - a combination that can create wonders. At the moment my focus is 5G and harnessing it’s capabilities to not just improve efficiency and save cost, but create new business models, enhance sustainability, reduce risks and most importantly future proof businesses.

Vishnu joined Singtel 2 years back to lead their digital innovation lab which focuses on co-creating 5G and IOT use cases with its clients. Prior to Singtel he has spent most of his career in banking leading large transformation programs and most recently leading digital solutioning and customer engagements at DBS Bank (Institutional).

5G Deep Dive: A Confluence of Smart Technologies in Manufacturing Use Cases

5G has been heralded as the next big technology, which will power this phase of the industrial revolution – Industry 4.0.

Most factories have complex operations requiring critical technology elements. Semiconductor & pharma manufacturing factories undoubtedly have the most stringent requirements and any impact to production has a domino effect on global value chains. The world is currently focused on the high demand and limited supply of semiconductor chips especially GPUs which has caused downstream industries like auto manufacturing to reduce their capacity. Considering the importance of these industries, it is clear that any technology which can enhance the production efficiency and capacity will be a game changer.

In this session, we will share how 5G liberates industrial devices and equipment from the shackles of wires and on-board computers, powering highly flexible manufacturing processes.

• Deep-dive into use cases of AGV and wafer inspection at Bosch’s Reutlingen semiconductor plant, as well as the 5G setup and high-level architecture that enabled them. (5G equipment at the BOSCH Reutlingen factory was provided and commissioned by Ericsson, a key technology partner for Singtel’s 5G network.)
• The various pathways to 5G including 5G POCs and deployment of industrial networks
