Venkat Sundararajan is the Vice President of Operations, Customer and Corporate Quality at Western Digital. He completes 10 years of service with Western Digital in 2022, serving in many leadership positions for manufacturing quality, supplier quality, and customer quality.
Venkat honed his leadership skills from his varied Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain functional roles in Pharmaceutical, Automotive, Data Storage, Solar Energy, and Management Consultancy.
Respected as a well-rounded functional quality leader skilled at solving business problems, his interpersonal skills were evidenced in being an unbiased bridge and influencer-enabler between various M&A companies and organizations.
Besides design-in quality, Venkat strongly believes in the people, systems and process aspects of good quality; resolutely driving cross-cultural Zero-Defect Mindset (ZDM), learning organizations, and proactive quality best practices.
Venkat has successfully delivered many prior quality organization transformations with internal and external partners through proven customer-centric, trusted-partner, and data analytics-enabled approach.
“Shift-left” and “Predictability” are key initiatives to continuously improve supplier and factory quality, which had raised OEM QBR Quality scores. Going forward, Venkat is dedicated to realizing 4IR Smart Quality as the next quality management revolution.
Venkat earned a Master of Industrial Engineering and an MBA from Oklahoma. He also has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from University of Mumbai. Recognized as a prominent quality leader in the data storage industry, he is a multi-award recipient from internal and external stakeholders alike.
Venkat is based at our flagship integrated semiconductor wafer to drive factory in Penang, Malaysia (SDSM).
