Mr. Justin KOO

JUSTIN KOO is a Senior Implant Equipment Engineer for GlobalFoundries Singapore (GF). He specializes in the Varian E500 Medium-Current Implanters in the well-established 200mm GIGA+ Fab. In this role, he oversees a fleet of 25 medium-current implanters within the Fab, being responsible for the productivity, maintenance and improvement of this equipment.
Justin graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2021 with a B. Eng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering degree. He began his journey as an Implant Equipment Engineer about 3 years ago, when he found GF to be an ideal launching pad for his career. In this short span, he has made great strides in acquiring technical knowledge, building a strong foundation in ion implanter technology. Demonstrating a continual improvement mindset, he has initiated and led projects aimed at bringing cost and quality breakthrough to the highly matured Varian E500 Medium-Current Implanters.
Justin is also a GF ambassador and designated mentor for the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association's (SSIA) Semiconductor Active Youth Program. These roles have empowered him to be actively involved in outreach and engagement programs, providing mentorship and guidance to the younger generation. Through these programs, he hopes to be a source of inspiration for young engineers seeking to make their first step into the world of semiconductors.
