What is the Emerging Young Leader Award?

The SEMI SEA Emerging Young Leader Award serves as an recognition to engage the next generation of rising star in the semiconductor ecosystem.

The recipient of the award has to be under 35 years old, and is selected based on their contributions to drive development, innovation, growth and opportunities for the industry.

Nominated by our Workforce & Talent Development Council, with the winner receiving the following benefits:

Emerging Young Leader Award Criteria

  • Eligibility: Open to individuals who are 35 years old and below in 2026 (i.e., born in 1991 or later).
  • SEMI Membership requirement: The nominee must be employed by a SEMI Member company.
  • Desired attributes: The nominee should demonstrate the following qualities and achievements:
    • Leadership qualities (e.g., vision, ability to motivate others, passion, and drive)
    • Adaptability in a changing business environment
    • Proven results, having led a team and/or project to achieve significant organizational milestone(s) and exemplified excellence
    • Ability to build and steer high-performing teams
    • Strong professional credibility, earning the respect of peers and team members and serving as an inspirational figure within the company
    • Meaningful CSR contributions, with clear impact and involvement

Emerging Young Leaders 2026 Timeline

  • Application (5 Feb – 13 Mar)

    • Companies to submit 2 nominations / company / country location (SEA only) via SEMI’s Application Form
    • Application includes a 5-minute recording of self-introduction and a brief description of achievements
       

  • Shortlisting (16 Mar – 23 Mar)

    • SEMI will review the applications and shortlist the final awardees
       

  • Results (1 Apr)

    • Awardees will be notified via email by 1 Apr 2026
       

  • Award Ceremony (5 May)

    • Awardees to receive the award at the Night of Leaders dinner event on 5 May, and invited to be part of the Fireside chat at the TalentCONNECT program on 7 May.

FAQ

We are only accepting nomination via our Emerging Young Leader 2026 nomination form.

Nomination is complimentary.

Each company is allowed to nominate 2 candidates per country location (Limited to Southeast Asia).

Nominees will be informed via email be sometime in March.

The organizer will be in-touch with the winners by no later than the end of March. The winners will then be invited to be part of the panel in the Fireside Chat at TalentCONNECT at SEMICON Southeast Asia 2026. Please note that additional charges like flight tickets and hotel accommodation fees will NOT be borne by SEMI.

The Emerging Young Leader Awards Ceremony will take place at Night of Leaders: Dinner and Awards, during SEMICON Southeast Asia 2026 on 5 May 2026.
