Sustainability Forum | Day 3 | 22 May 2025, Thursday | 09:30 - 16:15hrs | L3 | Cassia | 3311 - 3312
Theme: Catalyzing a Net-Zero Semiconductor Value Chain
Join the frontlines of Carbon Removal transformation. As chips fuel the AI revolution and global data surges, the semiconductor industry’s emissions footprint is under the microscope. This is a rare moment for Southeast Asia and especially Singapore to shape a world-class carbon removal market embedded into industrial strategy.
As part of our mission to build an ecosystem of engaged members accelerating the path toward a sustainable and responsible semiconductor industry, we invite you to be part of the Sustainability Forum at SEMICON Southeast Asia 2025.
Following key events such as Microsoft Supplier Day and the Global Climate Summit, this forum is designed to extend those learnings to a broader audience. It will focus on three key and complementary themes critical to advancing sustainability in the semiconductor sector:
Circular Economy in Conjunction with Water and Waste Management
Sustainability doesn’t stop at inputs—how we manage outputs is just as critical. This session will focus on innovative approaches to wastewater and waste recovery, showcasing how factories are adopting circular economy principles to recover, refresh, and reuse materials across the value chain. Hear from industry leaders on designing for maximum resource utilization and the latest technologies shaping sustainable manufacturing ecosystems.
Sustainability through Manufacturing Transformation
Semiconductor manufacturing is resource-intensive, with high consumption of energy, water, and critical chemicals. As we push towards higher technology nodes, designing for efficiency at every step becomes essential. In volume production, even minor improvements can lead to significant cumulative savings. With the rise of machine learning and automation, new opportunities for operational efficiency are emerging. This session will spotlight leaders in automation who are pioneering resource-efficient manufacturing practices.
Catalyzing a Net-Zero Semiconductor Value Chain
As the global demand for semiconductors grows, so does the industry’s carbon footprint. Carbon markets, including both voluntary and regulated frameworks, are evolving as key mechanisms to address residual emissions. This session will provide an overview of the carbon trading landscape, including insights into carbon credits and strategies the semiconductor value chain can adopt to engage meaningfully in these markets.
These topics are not only crucial to Singapore’s sustainable development, but also carry significant implications for our global semiconductor community. We look forward to equipping you with practical knowledge, expert insights, and a valuable resource pool to support your sustainability journey.
